Pompeii and Amalfi Coast from the port of Salerno
Disembark from your ship or leave your hotel to take a journey around the Amalfi Coast with a private driver. Explore the ancient and well-preserved city of Pompeii while accompanied by an English-speaking guide. Wander around Ravello and Amalfi independently, discovering historical monuments and experiencing the culture along the way.

Meet your driver on arrival at the port of Salerno and travel to Pompeii. Embark on a 2-hour guided walking tour of the ancient Roman city and marvel over the remarkably preserved ruins. Learn how the city was buried by the AD79 eruption of the nearby Mt Vesuvius volcano and see ruins that date back to as early as the 7th century BC. Stand in awe before the world’s oldest surviving Roman amphitheater, hear stories of Roman life as you wander the Forum, and listen as your guide points out the Roman Baths, the Termopolium Capuano and the House of the Tragic Poet.

After a comprehensive tour of ancient Pompeii, jump back in your vehicle for a drive along the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast. Admire the picturesque scenery and hop out to take photos as you wind along the coastal cliffs and pass picturesque fishing villages clinging to the rocks. Along the way, stop to take in the views from hilltop Ravello and enjoy free time to walk around the town independently. Perhaps visit the 17th-century Villa Rufolo or tuck into lunch (own expense) at one of the many local restaurants or cafés.

After lunch, continue to Amalfi, where your driver will wait for you as you explore the town. Set out on a self-guided walking tour and see landmarks like the Church of St Andrew, browse the shops for souvenirs or visit the fascinating Diocesan Museum.

Finally, end your tour with drop off at your port in time to board your cruise ship.
