Lake Garda Afternoon Sightseeing Cruise from Sirmione

Take this afternoon boat tour on Lake Garda. Learn the history while soaking up the sights of nature.

Embark on a 4-hour afternoon boat tour to explore the western shoreline of Lake Garda, enjoying its lush scenery, charming villages, historical landmarks, and relaxing atmosphere.

Make your own way to the harbor at Scaliger Castle in Sirmione, and settle aboard your comfortable, shared boat. Then, set sail and take in the views as you pass in front of the mansion that was home to the famous Italian opera singer, Maria Callas.

Continue past the Aquaria Thermal Spa to the tip of the Sirmione Peninsula, and admire Jamaica Beach, a rocky sunbathing spot that lies under the gaze of the Grotto of Catullus, the ruins of a once-grand Roman villa.

From here, glide to the Rocca di Manerba, a fir-dotted headland surrounded by a natural reserve, and then across the gulf between the islands of Isola di San Biagio and Isola del Garda.

Pause to admire the latter’s magnificent Villa Borghese, a Venetian neo-Gothic-style mansion owned and still lived in by the Cavazza family. Stop here on the lake for a snack (own expense) and if you wish, an optional swim in the crystal-clear waters, and then continue to Salò, a charming historical town lying in a small gulf on Garda’s south-western shores.

Dock here and enjoy an hour free to explore this enchanting town, perhaps taking a stroll along its famously long promenade for wonderful views of the gulf.

Back on your boat, sail to the well-known village of Gardone and enjoy a glass of Prosecco as you admire the elegant mansions and villas that frame the lake shores here.

See the waterside San Marco Tower, once owned by Italian patriot and poet Gabriele d’Annunzio, and gaze at the nearby lakefront Villa Fiordaliso, the former residence of Benito Mussolini’s lover, Claretta Petacci.

On your way back to Sirmione, cruise along the lake’s eastern shores past the Boiola, the source of Sirmione’s natural spring of hot sulphuric waters.

Finally, have your camera ready as your boat sails under the drawbridge of Scaliger Castle, the only pedestrian access to the peninsula.

Your 4-hour trip then ends back at the castle harbor when you disembark.
