4-Night Burgundy Bike Tour from Beaune
Explore the Burgundy wine region on a multiday bike tour with four nights of accommodation included. You'll spend two nights in Beaune, the capital of the region, and two nights in Vougeot, a village known for its château and grand cru vineyard. Over three days, cycle independently to some of the essential wine sites of the area, such as Pommard winery and Clos de Vougeot, as well as venues like a family-owned mustard factory or a fruit farm where liqueurs and jams are produced. Breakfast is included; all other food and drinks are at your own expense.

Day 1: Beaune
Arrive in the town of Beaune, and check in at the hotel. Then you are free to relax or explore on your own. There is plenty to see and do, such as Hospices de Beaune, a hospital built in the 15th century, and Athenaeum, a shop, bookstore, and wine cellar dedicated to the art of winemaking. Or just wander the cobbled streets. You'll also have an orientation meeting and receive your road book and maps for your bike tour, which starts tomorrow.

Overnight: Centrally located 3-star hotel in Beaune

Day 2: Beaune – Beaune (B)
Biking distance: 15.5 miles (25 km)
After breakfast, begin your bike ride through the Côte de Beaune vineyards, and head back toward Beaune on a wine route south of town, allowing you to visit well-known vineyards such as Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Santenay, or Chassagne. You may wish to stop by Montrachet, which produces what many consider to be the best dry white wine in the world, or stop to taste some local Burgundy (Bourgogne) products. Return to Beaune in the afternoon for free time for the rest of the day.

Overnight: Centrally located 3-star hotel in Beaune

Day 3: Beaune – Vougeot (B)
Biking distance: 16 miles (26 km)
Today, cross the Burgundy vineyards from south to north. You'll leave the Côte de Beaune area, making your way to the Côte de Nuits to reach Vougeot, where you'll spend the night at a charming hotel facing the vineyards. Take some time to visit the Château de Clos de Vougeot and its vineyard, one of the largest single vineyards in Burgundy producing grand cru wines.

Overnight: Hotel in Vougeot

Day 4: Vougeot – Vougeot (B)
Biking distance: 19 miles (31 km)
Make a loop through the vineyards of Clos de Vougeot, and then explore the Route des Grands Crus (roughly, 'road of the great wines') to visit wine villages including Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Morey-St-Denis. Enjoy some wine tasting along the way, if you wish, and visit a farm that produces red fruit jams, creams, and liqueurs from organic raspberries, blackberries, and blackcurrants grown on site. If you wish to cycle further, you can take optional ride to visit the Abbey of Citeaux, known for its cheese.

Overnight: Hotel in Vougeot

Day 5: Departure from Vougeot (B)
Your tour is officially over after breakfast. You may return to Beaune or Dijon by train or your other mode of transport to your next destination.
