January 05, 2025
Are you ready to put your geography knowledge and artistic skills to the test? TripGeo is thrilled to introduce its latest interactive game, Mapped, Drawn & Bordered, a fresh and engaging way to explore the United States while challenging your map-drawing abilities. Whether you're a geography enthusiast or simply looking for a fun and unique pastime, this game offers a creative twist on learning about the 50 states.

In Mapped, Drawn & Bordered, players select a state from a drop-down menu and attempt to sketch its outline on an interactive map. But this game is harder than you might think - while the map provides helpful hints like city and town names, the actual state borders are hidden, leaving you to rely on your memory and intuition. Once your drawing is complete, the game evaluates your accuracy and assigns a score based on how closely your sketch matches the real state boundaries.

Scoring!
Scoring in Mapped, Drawn & Bordered is relatively simple. You will be awarded a percentage score for each state based purely on how accurately your drawing matches the real state border. The game rewards you for accurately drawing the state's boundaries while penalizing you for drawing outside the state or not including some parts of the state.

The actual formula used is:
Score = Blue Area / (Red Area+Green Area+ Blue Area) ×100

Blue = the intersection between the player's drawn polygon and the actual state's polygon.
Red = the part of the player's drawing that falls outside the actual state boundaries.
Green = The part of the actual state that the player did not draw (i.e., the state's area outside the intersection).

This formula essentially measures how much of the player's drawing is correct compared to the total area of the drawing and the state.
