Scrambled Maps: Create and Challenge!
Major Dual Update Brings Exciting New Features
We're thrilled to announce not one, but two major updates for Scrambled Maps this week! These exciting new features take our popular map puzzle game to the next level with competitive gameplay and creative tools.
Scrambled Maps Challenge
The new Scrambled Maps Challenge presents you with a variety of map puzzles where you can test your skills against time. Each challenge features carefully selected locations from around the world, with varying difficulty levels to keep you engaged.
Key Features:
- Daily Challenges: New puzzles released regularly
- Competitive Leaderboards: See how your completion times stack up against other players
- Performance Tracking: Compare your times with the community average
- Multi-Map Games: Complete series of maps in sequence for a greater challenge
- Progress Synchronization: Cities you complete in daily challenges automatically unlock in your Scrambled World map, helping you achieve your country and region objectives faster
Each daily challenge typically includes three city maps with a 6×3 grid size, optimized for both desktop and mobile play. As you solve these puzzles, you'll not only compete for the best times but also expand your explored territory on the Scrambled World map!
Scrambled Maps Studio
Ever wanted to create your own map puzzles? Scrambled Maps Studio puts the power of creation in your hands! This powerful new tool lets you design custom Scrambled Maps games and share them with friends.
Create Your Own Challenges:
- Global Map Selection: Choose any location in the world at any zoom level
- Customizable Difficulty: Adjust grid sizes for easier or more challenging puzzles
- Themed Collections: Build multi-map challenges around travel destinations, historical sites, or any theme you choose
- Sharing Capabilities: Generate links to share your creations with friends
The Studio feature opens up endless possibilities for customization. Whether you want to create puzzles featuring your hometown, your dream vacation destinations, or the world's most recognizable landmarks, you now have the tools to make it happen.
Compete and Share
Both the Challenge and Studio features are designed with social gameplay in mind. Public leaderboards let you see how you measure up against the global community, while private sharing links allow you to create more intimate competitions with friends and family.
When someone completes your custom-made puzzle, their score is recorded, creating friendly competition to see who can solve the puzzle in the fewest moves or shortest time. This adds a whole new dimension to the relaxing solo puzzle experience that made the original Scrambled Maps so popular.
Coming Soon: Vintage Scrambled Maps
But wait, there's more! We're also developing Vintage Scrambled Maps, which will feature antique and historical maps. Imagine unscrambling a 1764 map of Dorset, England (above), or other fascinating historical cartography.
Here's a sneak peek at one of our upcoming vintage maps:
Aims for Scrambled Maps
The original idea behind Scrambled Maps was to create a relaxing, fun puzzle game for solo play. However, as our community grew, we received numerous requests for features that would allow players to create their own games and compete with others.
These updates represent our commitment to listening to our players while maintaining what makes Scrambled Maps special. Whether you prefer the meditative experience of solving puzzles at your own pace or the thrill of competition, Scrambled Maps now offers something for everyone.
