Ādīgrat, Ethiopia

Ādīgrat is a prominent city located in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia, approximately 800 kilometers from the capital city, Addis Ababa. It serves as the administrative center of the Atsbi Wenberta District. Positioned at an elevation of approximately 2,700 meters above sea level, Ādīgrat is known for its scenic landscape and moderate climate, characterized by a mix of dry and wet seasons. The city is strategically situated near the borders of Eritrea and is a key transport and trade hub in the region, connecting various rural areas with larger urban centers.

The demographics of Ādīgrat reflect the cultural diversity of Ethiopia, where Tigrinya is the main language spoken, and the population primarily practices Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity, with a significant Muslim minority.
