How it is made
The mark is a hexagon cut into seven pieces: six trapezium panes swept round into a pinwheel, and a hexagon at the centre. The white seams between them are the leading of a stained glass window.
Behind the glass the earth turns, once every forty seconds or so. Each pane shows the same globe in its own colour, so the continents pass from pane to pane as it spins. The seas are darker than the glass and the land lighter, like light coming through.
The six colours slowly melt from one palette to the next: the TripGeo colours, then vivid, shades of blue, fire, ice, monochrome, neon, forest and sunset. The centre pane is always a lighter blend of the six around it.
It opens as a still picture and starts turning once the outline of the world has loaded. If your device is set to reduce motion, it stays still in the TripGeo colours.
